Pictured is the team at Backus Hospital Endoscopy Center, a new honoree in the 91ÊÓƵEndoscopy Unit Recognition Program (EURP). Nurse Manager Anita M. Valenti, BSN, RN, CAPA, explains why achieving honoree status is significant for her team and their community in the East region.
“Honoree status in the Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program was awarded to The William W. Backus Hospital’s endoscopy department in September of 2023—Backus being one of two hospitals in all of Connecticut to receive this honor. Serving eastern Connecticut and the surrounding regions, we offer the most current technology to screen, diagnose, as well as treat a multitude of gastrointestinal tract conditions.
The team holds this recognition in such high regard and with so much respect. Knowing there are rigorous criteria that must be met to receive this status, this recognition has meant so much to the facility and the team. They are humbled to be recognized by 91ÊÓƵfor their drive to provide high-quality, safe care for our patients. The team has high standards for distinction and highly coordinated patient care, and to be recognized for that makes the team strive for more. Through ongoing education and continued compliance with ASGE’s requirements, this recognition is one that will remain in Connecticut’s East region.”
